On 31st January – 1st February 2026, an engagement meeting was convened in Dadaab, bringing together ministry officials, representatives from UNHCR, and members of the Refugee Community Teachers of Practice (RCToP). The purpose of the meeting was to develop a formal RCToP memorandum based on the issues previously raised by refugee teachers regarding their challenges.
The meeting offered participants a valuable platform to learn the process of developing a memorandum while collaboratively contributing to its formulation. This policy will serve as a guide for advocacy and stakeholder engagement, aiming to strengthen support, recognition, and professional development opportunities for refugee teachers in Dadaab, and ultimately enhance the quality of education within refugee communities
